"Whites who are sincere should organize themselves and figure out some strategies to break down the prejudice that exists in white communities. This is where they can function more intelligently and more effectively, in the white community itself, and this has never been done."
- Malcolm X

WPAWS OC kicked off in August 2019 with a deep dive into Robin DiAngelo's book, "White Fragility"!
What We’re About
White People Against White Supremacy (WPAWS) is modeled after Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ), who connect people across the country while supporting and collaborating with local and national racial justice organizing efforts. SURJ provides a space to build relationships, skills and political analysis to act for change.

WPAWS is an offshoot of the Orange County Racial Justice Collaborative (OCRJC), a multi-racial group here in the county that works with many groups including the ACLU and hosts monthly informative, inclusive meetings.
PURPOSE OF WPAWS. To reduce violence, criminalization and oppression of People of Color. We believe that those who identify as white would benefit from understanding how racism and white supremacy keep all of us divided and how systemic racism can be addressed. White Supremacy is not just rallies with people carrying torches, but a silent, covert system that preserves the status quo.
